The breakfast was good and was served by a very friendly lady. The coffee was particularly good and there was a range of teas including English Breakfast tea. The view was not bad and there is a beach just across the road but we didn't try this out as we were there to see the castle which is spectacular.

Beautiful hotel, lovely pool, great restaurant with views and comfortable room. The atmosphere of the hotel is informal and relaxed, yet the place is run to very high standards in a military fashion. The grounds are beautiful too.

The accommodation is new and located near the beach. The private parking was convenient. The host, Yiotha, was very friendly and helpful. We arrived very late (~11pm), and they waited for us and gave us a very warm welcome on our arrival, and assisted us to carry our luggage up the stair to the room. Our room was of good size, clean, tidy, modern, quiet and well-facilitated. The bed was very comfortable. The swimming pool was nice. The breakfast was excellent, including omelette, fried eggs, a good serve of cakes, pies, pastries, breads, yogurt, fruit bowl, juice and coffee. We are very satisfied with this accommodation.

The Medieval fortress of Monemvasia is truly amazing with it’s cobbled streets and alley ways. The fortress and church at the top are a must see but the walk uphill is difficult. It needs to be noted that like all of Greece this place has a lot of ups and downs so you need to have fairly good mobility. But the hmm and authentic architecture is a must see.Much has been restored to it’s original structures. The vistas of the sea is awesome.

An amazing place, very pretty.
An amazing place, very pretty. Worth climbing up the steps, but not for the feint hearted, and wear trainers. I would imagine it gets very busy so would recommend going early. And worth getting the shuttle bus, it’s further than you think.

Monemvasia is a magical place, beautiful and awe inspiring.
Monemvasia is a magical place, beautiful and awe inspiring. As long as you are reasonably fit and mobile there is a lot to explore. A few shops and tavernas, bars, restaurants and cafes to choose from. History oozes from every stone. I did not like to see the horses laden with stone carrying to and from the building works, slipping on the steep cobbled streets. There are workers with trolleys and wheel Barrows to carry your luggage if you want but nowhere is that far away, pack very light though. Parking is restricted so drop off your stuff at the gate and go away to park, or get a bus from the town on the mainland. It's not the easiest plave to access but it is worth it.

Monemvasia needs at least 4 days to be fully appreciated.
Monemvasia needs at least 4 days to be fully appreciated. The hiking trails around the castle and Kalives are often ignored in favor of the castle, which is a crime. The castle is obviously the big attraction here and it's worth it alone. I would suggest staying in Gefira and walking up the castle if you are physically able instead of driving. Skorpios (in Gefira) and Matoula (in the castle) were my favorite places to eat at. By no means should you neglect to try the local wines, especially Malvasia.

It was cool to realize you were staying in something that existed 500 years before you were born, before planes, trains and automobiles... Accomodation was basic, but clean and comfortable. Staying here is about the experience, not the amenities. We really enjoyed our visit. I loved exploring the ruins of the upper town at sunrise. It is a very cool experience.

Unique experience to stay on The Rock!
Unique experience to stay on The Rock! Hike to the upper ruins is a must do, we should have done it upon arrival but waited til the morning of our departure. I would have preferred sleeping in, longer time at wonderful breakfast buffet, and relaxing on our balcony before leaving …. there’s always next time.
I really liked the location of our room on Likinia hotel, as in front of it there’s a big square and the sea, providing exceptional views mainly during sunrise as well as on the moonrise! The family owned hotel is nice and personnel very helpful, however the room is asking to be refreshed a little bit and then could be one of the top locations in Monemvasia.
I’m absolutely positive that anyone will love it there!
Great location the view is breathtaking! The architecture of the hotel is outstanding but the whole town in the castle keeps the same style . It’s like living in a medieval fairytale .
As for the room was Very nice with old style furniture and most important they were keeping it clean everyday ! There was also a small lovely terrace next to our room so you can sit and admire the Myrtoan sea.
Everything was perfect and exceed my expectations!!! Monemvasia is a magical place that travels you back in time. Lazareto hotel is built with stone and wood matches completely to surrounding environment and the character of Monemvasia. The people of the hotel made the whole experience even better. Very welcoming and warm staff from the moment of the arrival, willing to help you at any moment.
The location was the best in the area. The view from our balcony was perfect. The room was one of the best that we stayed for our three months in Greece. The host were wonderful and we could have stayed here a month. It's a short walk to everything. Parking is good, the bed was very comfortable, great shower, fireplace (although we didn't need it), and two VERY NICE BALCONIES.
The room is located in the castle of Monemvasia, an amazing experience to walk in the little streets and wonder about the old alleys and squares. The owner was friendly and provided us with loads of information, fruit, and bottled water during our stay. The place is an old medieval house and we occupied the upper floor which was an experience worth living.
Our stay was phenomenal. The host was extremely helpful and moved our bags in and out from the castle gate to the house while we parked the car. The view from the house is incredible and all of Monemvasia was one of my favorite places we stayed while in Greece. The interior was also quote spacious for being in an ancient castle house. Very clean as well.
I have never been to Monemvasia but it was a wonderful little place. The hotel has different locations so we got a little house, apartment to ourselves. We stayed for 2 days and our room was cleaned which pleased me. For the breakfast we had to go to a different building but it was amazing and if you sat outside, the view looked out onto the sea.
This is a sweet family-run guest house. Not really a hotel. It is pleasant if a little dowdy. It is just across the road from the sea and an easy walk to several decent restaurants. The ancient city of Monemvasia is stunning and worth a visit. The owner was really lovely and friendly and a wealth of information.
Monemvasia is a unique place, definitely a must-see. The hotel is perfectly located in a silent, calm corner of the old town, well-equipped, well served with friendly and helpful staff. When it came to the city and the hotel, everything was just perfect, 100% fit to or exceeding expectations.
I recently stayed at Ritsos in Monemvasia, nestled in a charming alley within the castle town. The hotel offers lovely accommodations adorned with traditional elements, perfectly capturing the essence of the area. A delightful and authentic experience that I highly recommend.
The hotel is situated in a lovely spot just right on the edge of the corridor to the old town of Monemvasia. Nice balcony with port view on a busy road. Many shops around. Room was ok and relative convinient.
Charming stone room with a fireplace. Comfortable beds, friendly staff, and great breakfast included.
Ocean view from our room. Great area within the castle town of Monemvasia.
Very charming!!
Great luxury hotel very close to Monemvasia. Great restaurant on site and large, comfortable rooms. The pools and grounds are beautiful, and the staff were wonderful.
Location and parking at the hotel (next to the room) instead of on the access road of Monemvasia and hauling the luggage up the road and into the kastro.
